Fuses are essential core short-circuit protection components for power distribution grids and control systems, mainly tasked with safeguarding circuits against short-circuit faults and severe overload. As simple yet highly effective circuit protection parts, they are widely adopted across industries. The sector is now evolving toward high-conductivity materials, superior breaking capacity and ultra-fast response. Shuguang Fuses supplies a full lineup of models and specifications, fully aligning with industry upgrading trends and perfectly fitting various circuit protection scenarios.
A typical fuse is composed of a fusible element and an insulating tube or base. It is installed in series within the protected circuit, where the fusible element will melt instantly to disconnect the circuit once a short circuit takes place. Most manufacturers now upgrade fusible elements with silver or copper materials and adopt high-strength ceramic for insulating housings. Shuguang adopts precision pure silver sheet fusible elements, paired with temperature-resistant and impact-proof insulating components, ensuring more precise and stable protection performance.
Common Fuse Types & Application Scope
Plug-in Fuse
Suitable for line terminals with a voltage of 380V and below. Shuguang’s version features tin-plated contacts to resist oxidation, ideal for civil power distribution and light-duty industrial applications.
Screw Fuse
This type comes with a fuse indicator on the upper cap. When the internal fusible element melts, the indicator will spring out immediately, and the working state can be clearly checked via the glass window on the porcelain cap. Boasting large breaking current, it applies to circuits of 500V or below and 200A or less, extensively used in machine tool electrical control systems. Shuguang optimizes the ceramic shell for stronger impact resistance, equips with a more sensitive indicator, and delivers breaking performance beyond standard industry levels.
Enclosed Fuse
Available in filled and non-filled designs. The filled type is filled with high-purity quartz sand inside to achieve excellent breaking capacity. Shuguang’s enclosed fuses adopt premium quartz sand and feature reliable sealing, adapting well to complex and harsh operating environments.
Fast Fuse
Specially designed for semiconductor rectifier protection, adopting V-type deep-groove silver sheet fusible elements. Shuguang fast fuses realize millisecond-level fusing response, perfectly suited for high-voltage DC occasions such as photovoltaic power systems and rectifier equipment.
Self-resetting Fuse
Adopting metallic sodium as the fusible medium, it only limits surge current instead of cutting off the circuit completely and supports repeated use. Shuguang optimizes the internal sealing structure to reduce sodium medium consumption and greatly prolong service life.
In actual installation, fuses must be connected in series to the protected circuit. They will blow automatically under short circuit or severe overload conditions. Shuguang provides a complete range of fuse specifications, able to precisely match the circuit demands of different equipment.
Key Points for Fuse Parameter Selection
The fuse rated voltage must match the motor working voltage; operation over the rated voltage is strictly forbidden. Shuguang offers products covering mainstream voltage grades including 380V and 500V.
The fuse rated current should be higher than the long-term maximum operating current of the circuit, to prevent accidental fusing under normal running conditions.
The current limiting capacity shall be greater than the maximum short-circuit current of the circuit, so as to avoid damage to the fuse itself.

The rated current of the fuse element must fit actual motor operating conditions. Motor starting current can reach 4~8 times of rated current, and the fuse element must remain stable without aging or accidental fusing during startup. Shuguang can customize fuse characteristics to meet the operating needs of different types of motors。
